Space technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of practical solutions for both the public and private sectors.
These topics were widely discussed during the international event “Vilnius Space Days 2026”, which brought together experts from the space, technology, defence, and public sectors across Europe. During the event, Coetus Commercial Director Erikas Bėrontas presented the applications of Earth Observation (EO) and satellite data in the fields of civil security, infrastructure monitoring, environmental protection, and risk management.
According to Coetus, the greatest value today lies not in the technologies themselves, but in the ability to apply them to solving real-world challenges. Satellite data and advanced monitoring solutions enable organisations to assess situations more effectively, track changes, and make faster, data-driven decisions.
This year’s “Vilnius Space Days” conference focused on European security and resilience in a rapidly changing geopolitical environment. Discussions highlighted the growing threats related to GNSS interference, technological sovereignty, protection of critical infrastructure, and the integration of space technologies into public sector operations.
The event programme featured representatives from the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission, as well as organisations from the innovation, defence, and business sectors. The conference also included international B2B meetings and discussions on the role of the Baltic region within the European space ecosystem.
According to Coetus, both public institutions and businesses are increasingly seeking practical, operational solutions that enable real-time monitoring, risk identification, and more efficient information management.
